    Also called Choti Diwali, this day involves rituals like Abhyang Snan (holy oil bath) before sunrise. In South India, it marks Lord Krishna’s victory over Narakasura.
  • Diwali / Lakshmi Puja (October 20, Monday)
    The main day of Diwali when Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha, and Kuber are worshipped. Diyas and lamps are lit to dispel darkness and invite wealth and prosperity. Families perform Lakshmi-Ganesha Puja at home and businesses.
  • Govardhan Puja / Annakut (October 22, Wednesday)
    Devotees worship Lord Krishna who lifted Govardhan Hill. Large food offerings (Annakut) are made in temples and homes.
  • Bhai Dooj / Bhau Beej (October 23, Thursday)
    Celebration of the bond between brothers and sisters. Sisters apply tilak on brothers' foreheads, pray for their longevity, and exchange gifts and sweets.
