Follow the Auspicious Muhurat: Always perform Kalash Sthapana during the auspicious timing of the Pratipada Tithi. For tomorrow (March 19), the best times are 06:52 AM to 07:43 AM and 12:05 PM to 12:53 PM (Abhijit Muhurat).
Select the Correct Direction: The Kalash should always be established in the Ishan Kon (North-East) of the house. This is considered the direction of the deities.
Cleanliness and Purity: Bathe before the establishment and purify the place of worship by sprinkling Gangajal. Always use fresh flowers and pure water in the puja.
Sowing Barley (Khetri): Ensure you sow barley in an earthen pot beneath the Kalash. This is a symbol of the universe's first crop and the growth of happiness and prosperity.

What Not to Do During Ghatasthapana? (Precautions)
These prohibitions should be strictly followed during the worship:
Use of Inauspicious Metals: Never use iron or steel pots or vessels for Kalash Sthapana. Always use a Kalash made of clay, copper, brass, silver, or gold.
Establishment at the Wrong Time: Kalash Sthapana should never be done during Rahu Kaal or after sunset. Tomorrow (March 19), Rahu Kaal is from 01:59 PM to 03:29 PM; worship is prohibited during this time.
Moving the Kalash: Once the Kalash is established, do not move it from its place at all for nine days. Shifting the Kalash is considered inauspicious.
Avoid Darkness: The place where the Kalash is established should not be kept in the dark. At least one lamp (even if not an Akhand Jyoti) should remain lit there.
Incorrect Face of the Coconut: Never keep the face of the coconut pointing toward the sky or the ground. According to the scriptures, doing so leads to an increase in diseases and enemies.

Sattvic Food: In a house where Ghatasthapana is performed, the consumption of garlic, onion, meat, and alcohol must be strictly prohibited for nine days.
Observe Celibacy: Maintain purity in thought, word, and deed, and observe celibacy (Brahmacharya) during Navratri.
Do Not Leave the House Empty: If you have lit an Akhand Jyoti or established a Kalash, never leave the house empty (locked). At least one member of the family should remain present at home.
